That should be the end of my post because doesn’t it say it all! 2016 has become the year my writing career officially launched in so many ways.
In January 2016 I signed my first 3-book deal with Carina Press, part of the Harlequin family.
Then in July 11 2016 my first book was released for sale, making me the happiest girl in the world. I mean that was such a big moment in my life I will never be able to thank Angela James enough for believing in me and my Jericho Brotherhood series.
My friends all said—“Go to RWA. You have to go to nationals this year.” I agreed and sacrificed to make that happen. The goal oriented girl I was I told only my two closest writing friends my dream goal—to get an agent at RWA.
And I did it!!! A super great friend introduced me to Jessica Watterson, Sandra Dijkstra Agency, at RWA and she and I squeezed in a quick drink before lunch to talk writing careers! We were on the same page at once, and I crossed my fingers she’d like my work enough to be my agent.
The week after RWA, I begged friends to critique the work I was sending before I hit send. Days floated by and sooner than I had any write to expect, Jessica emailed, then we talked and then I signed!
We are new on our journey together, but I feel extremely blessed that my 2016 goals are becoming a reality. Only one more to go—sign a contract to publish a fourth book before the end of the year! Fingers-crossed, agent-on-board, I am hopeful that I will have achieve this goal too!
